A: 1.1 Wi-Fi Network Issues

  • Router does not support 2.4GHz band (our devices do not support 5GHz)
  • Weak Wi-Fi signal or severe interference
  • Router has MAC filtering, AP isolation, or DHCP disabled

Solutions:

Check Wi-Fi Band:

  • Access router settings, disable "Dual-Band Merging," and enable 2.4GHz separately
  • If the router only supports 5GHz, replace it with a 2.4GHz-compatible one

Improve Signal Strength:

  • Move the smart light closer to the router (within 10ft) and retry pairing
  • Avoid interference from microwaves, Bluetooth devices, etc.

Check Router Settings:

  • Disable "AP Isolation" (prevents device communication blocking)
  • Disable "MAC Address Filtering" (prevents device blocking)
  • Ensure DHCP is enabled (for automatic IP assignment)

1.2 Incorrect Pairing Steps

Possible Causes:

  • Device not in pairing mode
  • Wrong device type selected in the App
  • Incorrect Wi-Fi password entered

Enter Pairing Mode Correctly:

  • Smart Bulbs: Power off/on 3-5 times rapidly until the light blinks
  • PoolSmart™ RGBCW Devices: Hold the setting button for 5s until the indicator flashes

Correct App Pairing Steps:

  1. Open the "Smart Life" App
  2. Tap "+" to add a device and select the correct type (e.g., "PoolSmart™ RGBCW")
  3. Enter the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi password (case-sensitive)
  4. Wait ~60s until "Pairing Successful" appears

Wi-Fi Password Issues:

  • If the password contains special characters (e.g., `@#$%`), temporarily change it to letters/numbers only for testing
Q2. My Device Paired but Unresponsive (Offline/No Control)

A: 2.1 Router or Network Issues

Possible Causes:

  • Router reboot changed the device's IP address
  • Wi-Fi name/password was changed without re-pairing
